Lapacho Floors
Lapacho is commonly referred to as “Ipe”. Lapacho is ideal for flooring because of its incredible hardness and durability. It is also used in medicine for treatment of several ailments such as fungus and cancer cells. The Lapacho tree is indigenous to Central and South America. It is also a natural resistant to insects, decay, and molds. Lapacho is naturally fire resistant and contains no added harmful chemicals. Lapacho wood is given the same fire rating as concrete and steel!
Apart from its use in flooring, it is principally used where high shock resistance levels are needed like railroad crossties, heavy construction, tool handles, and decorative veneers.

Appearance: it is olive-brown in color and ages to a light silver grey color.
Grain: ranges from straight to very irregular.
Characteristics: a strong, tough, resilient wood.
