Basswood Floors This domestic wood is grown in Canada and North America. The wood has a poor resistance to insects and has been noted to have a slight odor when freshly milled. Basswood is one of the lightest hardwoods but can withstand the heavy use endured by floors. Other uses include guitar bodies, cabinetry, trunks, and boxing & crating.
SPECS: Appearance: sapwood is smooth white to pale brown, while the heartwood is a smooth white to pale pink-brown. Grain: a straight and fine grain Characteristics: one of the softest hardwoods.
